[[SPOILERS MASS EFFECT 3!]]

I don't usually write journals but I guess I just need to write down my thoughts.

The Mass Effect 3 ending was really hit me hard. This wasn't because it was emotional and amazingly epic like 99% of the game; it was because it made me sad and angry at my favorite game series. The endings seemed so wrong. I understand that killing Shepard off made for a dramatic end but it doesn't sit well with me personally.

After spending so much time playing with my character for 3 games…loving the characters, the well written story, and the whole mass effect universe …I felt betrayed when they decided the best way to end ME3 was to destroy it all. Killing Shepard and the relays makes it so everyone starts over. Now there isn't really much story left to do anything with for the fans who write or draw. And that's how we remember games like this to show how much it meant to us.

And honestly a game that is about player choice gave us three endings all very similar that didn't even make much sense. I think Bioware didn't fully understand how much fans love this series. After all that time playing the games and buying the DLCs we deserved a good ending where Shepard could survive and the relays were still there. I'm not saying I want a cheesy Disney ending…but I think with all of Bioware's talented writers they could have come up with something better for at least one of the endings.

So yeah destroying everything shouldn't have to be in all of the endings.

Also I found this video which talks about Shepard being indoctrinated at the end of the game.
At first I thought this silly theory was just fans holding on to the tiniest bit of hope they could find, but as it turns out there's actually a lot of game evidence. But after posts on BiowareSocial from Bioware I'm not as convinced it was their plan...but I do think they should go with that idea for a DLC or something. Sadly I don't think Bioware will make it right for fans. Somehow even after all the criticism they still think their ending was the best and they are going to "clarify" all the huge plot holes.

I actually thought I wouldn't be able to pick up the games again after that ending… but I have. Mass Effect 3 was pretty amazing for the most part so I went through that again on the PC and took a ton of screenshots. So now I can enjoy making wallpapers and art for the game .
